|American Legion Post 305 - November - 2018
From the Legion Commander
Hello Legion Family,
October was an eventful month for the Legion having some of our yearly events return.
This past month we started off with our Polish meal which was a great success. Our Legion raised over $2500
dollars that day and had a match from a local insurance company and was able to provide Community Home
Rebuilders with over $5000 in proceeds from the event. Thanks to Tom and Donna for coordinating the event
along with all the volunteers to make this a yearly success. On the 20th we held a Fish Fry and Bingo for the
Veterans Home and as always everyone involved had a wonderful time. The 27th we had our annual Trunk or
Treat for the children in the Hall. It was well attended as usual. Thank You Amy Dunnick for being the
chairperson this year, as well as, all the volunteers. That same night we also had a Adult Halloween Party which
was filled with a night full of fun.
The Legions Upcoming Event:
November 11th will be our Veterans Day program at 5PM. Please come out and show support to our Veterans
and Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I.
December 8th will be the Children’s Christmas Party
We will have our next executive board meeting on the 5th of November and our Legion General Membership
meeting on the 7th of November. Look forward to see you all there.

From the SAL Commander
November’s newsletter is being written from my tree stand while I enjoy natures beautiful colors, sounds and
creatures. I wish to thank all of the Legion members and friends who attended and helped make October’s,
“Spuds Steak Fry”, our best one yet. Many volunteers from the Auxiliary and a huge amount of friends and
family made it possible. A special shout out to Yvonne Arrigo for her help Thursday night, Amy Dunnuck and
Leo Vespi for their calmness under fire and the star of the show, Will Knipping, the ringer busboy we
showcased. Also thanks to Mark Winterburn for letting the chefs use his canopy to stay out of the elements.
Many upcoming activities are planned for November, so please go to the new website and follow along on the
calendar. Special thanks to Bill White for maintaining the old website and a big “good luck” to Scott and Denise
Baldwin for taking over the new website.
If you wish to donate for this seasons Christmas basket program you may drop a check off in the Sons box or
