| 2009 Veterans Day Ceremonies |
| At the conclusion of the ceremonies a dinner was held inside the hall. The Auxiliary, once again, did a superb job at preparing the dinner. | The day began by a group of members,representing our Post, going to the Wayland Schools at a Veterans Day ceremony. After those ceremonies they gathered at the Post for an afternoon ceremony at Emmons Lake Elementary School |
| Ceremonies at the Post began at 7 PM. Senior Vice Commander Larry Schans welcomed all in attendance. Alexandra McIntyre sang our National Anthem, Chaplain Bill White offered the opening prayer, followed by SAL Commander Jerry Huver of the SAL, Kristen Lazarski of the Auxiliary, Past-Commander Larry Stauffer, Carole Pitsch female veteran, Past-Commander Al Jousma, Past-Commander Chet Teater, and Sargent At Arms Glen Klaver |
| The wreath was placed on the Rock Memorial in memory of our lost brothers and sisters. Thereafter the order was given to "Salute the Dead". This was followed by "Taps" as the color guards and firing squads were brought to attention. Senior Vice Commander Larry Schans closed the ceremonies by asking for a moment of silence for our military personnel and then inviting everyone into the hall for some refreshments. |
